Feeling God’s Call to Tell My Story

At the beginning of the year, I found myself pondering over God’s plan for me. Sitting in my living room, reading Miranda Lambert’s new cookbook “Y’all Eat Yet,” memories of my childhood with the Lambert family flooded back. It was during those early high school years that I had the privilege of living with them.

As I delved into the pages of the cookbook, reading the stories behind Beverly’s famous meatloaf, I felt God calling me to write my own story – the story of my childhood when my father kidnapped me and took me to Jordan. Reflecting on the scriptures, 1 Kings 17:10-14 came to mind. It tells the story of Elijah approaching a widow and asking for food and water. Despite her dire circumstances, the widow was obedient and shared what little she had.

Inspired by this tale, I realized that if the widow could find the strength to be obedient, then I too could find the courage to answer God’s call. By sharing my story, I hope to shed light on the struggles and triumphs that come with overcoming adversity. I aim to provide a message of hope and resilience, reminding others that they too can find strength in the face of their own challenges.

So, as I embark on this writing journey, I do so with a heart full of faith and a determination to be obedient to the call that God has placed on my life.

Reading Miranda Lambert’s Cookbook

As I flipped through the pages, not only did I find delicious recipes, but I also discovered the stories behind them. It reminded me of the importance of family, tradition, and the power of food to bring people together.

The memories of my childhood with the Lambert family came flooding back. Living with them during my early high school years was a time filled with love, laughter, and shared meals.

The Obedience of the Widow with Elijah – 1 Kings 17:10-14

The story of the widow and Elijah in 1 Kings 17:10-14 has always resonated with me. It tells the tale of a widow who, despite her dire circumstances, showed great obedience and faith. When Elijah approached her and asked for food and water, she shared what little she had, trusting that God would provide.

This story serves as a reminder that even in our darkest moments, we can find the strength to be obedient and trust in God’s plan. Just like the widow, I aim to find the courage to share my story and offer hope to others who may be facing their own challenges.

In conclusion, I am launching a The Redeemed Podcast in hopes to share my story and the testimony of God healing and redeeming people every day. Through my words, I hope to bring light to the struggles and triumphs of overcoming adversity, reminding others that they too can find strength and resilience in the face of their own challenges.
